About these tools

This is the largest category on the site. It covers the routine jobs that come up with images: changing format, making a file smaller, resizing to fit a requirement, cropping, and converting an image to Base64 for use in code.

It also includes a few heavier tools, such as background removal and colourisation, which need server-side processing because the models they use are too large to run in a browser tab.

How to choose

If you know the format you need, go straight to that converter. For a file-size limit, use the compressor and check the result. For anything involving a subject cut out of its background, use the background remover rather than cropping by hand.

Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded to a server?

Most of these tools do the work in your browser, so the file never leaves your device. The exceptions are the ones that need a model too large to run locally - background removal and colourisation - which process on the server and discard the file afterwards.

Will converting reduce my image quality?

It depends on the formats. Converting to a lossy format such as JPEG discards some detail; converting to a lossless one such as PNG does not. Compressing always trades some quality for size, which is the point of it.

Is there a watermark on the output?

No. The file you get back carries no watermark and no branding.
