What it makes

A single image combining a quote, an optional attribution line, a background and a chosen font - the kind of image shared on social media rather than posted as plain text. Everything is drawn on an HTML canvas in your browser and exported as a PNG.

Sizing for where it is going

Presets are provided for the common shapes - square for Instagram, a wide format for Twitter/X, and a tall format for Instagram/Facebook Stories - because a quote that fits comfortably in a square crops awkwardly in a tall story format, and picking the right shape before typing saves rearranging the text afterwards. A custom width and height is also available.

Text fitting

Long quotes are wrapped and, if needed, the font size is reduced automatically to keep the text inside the card with margin on every side - a quote that is too big to fit is shrunk rather than left running off the edge or overlapping the attribution line.

Background and colour

Choose a flat colour, a gradient, or upload your own background image (used only in your browser, never uploaded to a server). Text colour is chosen separately, with a contrast warning if the chosen text colour would be hard to read against the chosen background - a check worth having since a low-contrast quote card is easy to make and easy to miss until it is already shared.
