Limitations

  • Bilibili refuses anonymous server requests to its web API; this tool does not work around that and reads the public page instead.

  • Region-locked or removed videos cannot be read.

We do not store the link, and our analytics record only the platform, how many images were found and any error code. How the cover is read

Bilibili’s web API answers anonymous server requests with a refusal as part of its anti-automation controls. The tool respects that and does not try to get around it. Instead, our server loads the public video page and reads the cover declared in its og:image tag.

What you get

  • Uploaded cover – the declared image with Bilibili’s resize suffix (such as @1200w_630h) removed, which is the cover file as uploaded
  • Share image (resized by Bilibili) – the exact image the page declares for link previews

Both are loaded and measured before they are shown, so you can see how much larger the uploaded cover is than the share version.

Limitations

  • Region-locked, removed or login-only videos cannot be read.

Why doesn't the tool use Bilibili's API?

Bilibili’s web API refuses anonymous server requests as an anti-automation measure. The tool does not work around that; it reads the cover the public video page declares instead.

Can I paste just the BV id?

Yes. A bare BV id is turned into its bilibili.com/video address automatically. Legacy av ids are accepted inside a bilibili.com/video link.

Why was my b23.tv link rejected?

b23.tv links are redirects, and the tool does not follow unknown redirects. Open the link in your browser and paste the full bilibili.com address.

What is the difference between the uploaded cover and the share image?

The share image is a copy Bilibili resized for link previews. The uploaded cover is the same file without Bilibili’s resize suffix, which is normally larger.

Why does a video fail even though it exists?

Videos that are region-locked, removed or restricted may not present a public page to our server. When that happens the tool reports the error rather than guessing.
