Your recent transcripts
The last 10 transcripts, kept in this browser only — never uploaded, never on our servers. Clearing your browser data removes them.
How it works
Upload
Drop in an audio or video file. Video works too — only the audio track is read, so there is no need to extract it first.
Transcribe
The spoken language is detected automatically. Progress is shown as it works, and you can refresh the page without losing the job.
Read & export
Every line is timestamped. Click a timestamp to hear that exact moment, then copy the text or download SRT or VTT subtitles.
Questions people ask
Does it detect the language automatically?
Yes — across more than 90 languages, detected from the audio itself, so you do not have to pick one. If you already know the language and want to be certain, choose it from the dropdown before transcribing.
Can it transcribe songs?
Yes. Lyrics are genuinely harder than clear speech — backing instruments and singing style both get in the way — so expect some inaccuracy on music. What it will not do is get stuck repeating one line, which is the usual failure when transcribing songs.
What do the timestamps mean?
The transcript is split into segments, each labelled with the moment it starts — so you can see that something was said at 1:30 and something else at 1:44. Clicking a timestamp jumps the player to that point.
Which files can I upload?
Audio: MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, OGG, OPUS, AAC, WMA, AMR. Video: MP4, MOV, MKV, WEBM, AVI, FLV, 3GP. Up to 500 MB.
How long does it take?
Roughly a third to a half of the recording's length on a typical file, so a 10-minute recording lands in about 3–5 minutes. The progress bar reflects real progress through the audio, not a guess.
Are my files kept?
Uploads are held only long enough to transcribe them and are removed by routine cleanup afterwards. Your transcript history is stored in your own browser and is never sent to us.

Your uploaded audio file is sent from A2Z Tools' server to a separate, dedicated transcription service to perform the actual speech-to-text conversion -- this is server-side/external-service processing, not browser-only. We do not have independent visibility into that separate service's internal data-retention practices from this codebase.Frequently asked questions
