What this tool does

Pick the kind of agreement you need, edit the clauses that come with it, name both parties, and download a finished document. Nothing is locked: every clause can be rewritten, reordered or deleted, and you can add your own.

The file is produced on our server as real, selectable text. That matters more than it sounds. Tools that build a PDF in the browser are usually taking a picture of the page - the result cannot be searched, a clause cannot be copied out of it, and a screen reader cannot read it at all. An agreement is the worst possible document to ship as an image.

The templates

• Service agreement - for providing an ongoing service to a client: scope, fees, payment terms, ownership of the work and how either side ends it.
• Non-disclosure agreement - for sharing confidential information before or during a working relationship.
• Rental agreement - for letting property or equipment: term, rent, deposit, condition and responsibilities.
• Freelance contract - for a defined piece of work: deliverables, milestones, revisions and what happens to the copyright.
• Blank agreement - an empty document when you already know what it needs to say.

Placeholders are meant to be obvious

Anything the template cannot know is written in [SQUARE BRACKETS]. That is deliberate: an unfilled placeholder should be conspicuous in the finished document so that whoever reads it notices, rather than being quietly signed. Before you send an agreement, search it for a square bracket.

Numbering

Clauses are numbered by their position, not by numbers you type. Insert a clause in the middle and everything after it renumbers - which is the entire reason legal documents number their clauses, and the thing that goes wrong when they are typed by hand.

Is this legally binding?

A written agreement signed by both parties is generally binding. That is not the same as it being right for your situation. These are drafts produced from a template by a tool, not legal advice. Contract law differs by country and by state, several of the clauses here contain terms only a court can settle, and an agreement that matters deserves a lawyer reading it. The generated document says so on its face, because the file is what gets emailed and signed by people who never saw this page.

Frequently asked questions

Can I download the contract as a Word document?

Yes. Both PDF and Word are offered, and both are real text. The Word file can be edited afterwards, which is usually what you want when the other side asks for a change.

Do I need an account?

No. The tool is free and works signed out - the draft is kept in your browser as you type, so a refresh does not lose an afternoon of work. Signing in keeps your agreements together, numbers them in a proper sequence and lets you reopen them later.

Is what I type private?

The draft in your browser stays there. The agreement is sent to our server when you press download, because that is what produces the file, and it is stored so that you can find it again. It is not shared, and it is not indexed.

How many clauses can an agreement have?

Enough for any ordinary contract. Add as many as you need with the Add a clause button, and move them with the arrows.
