The note is stored in this browser, on this device, and nowhere else. It is not sent to a server, not put in the address bar and not included in any analytics — nobody here can read it, because it never arrives. Which also means it is not a backup: clearing your browsing data deletes it, a private window loses it on close, and it will not be on your phone or another computer. Download anything that matters.

Where the note is kept

In your browser, on this device, and nowhere else. It is not sent to a server, not put in the address bar and not included in any analytics. Nobody at A2Z.Tools can read it, because it never arrives here.

That is worth stating plainly, because "online notepad" sounds like something that syncs, and this does not.

Which means it is not a backup

The same fact has an awkward half. Because the note lives in this browser on this device:

Clearing your browsing data deletes it.
Private or incognito windows lose it when they close.
It will not be on your phone, or in another browser, or on another computer.

Anything that matters should be downloaded. The Download button writes a plain text file locally — again, nothing is uploaded to produce it.

Saving

The note saves as you type, shortly after you stop. Browser storage is limited to a few megabytes per site; if a note grows past it the tool says so plainly instead of silently losing the keystroke that overflowed, and your text stays on screen so you can download it.

Plain text, deliberately

There is no formatting, and the note is never rendered as HTML. That is a safety property as much as a simplicity one: a notepad that displayed its own saved content as markup would run anything you had ever pasted into it, every time you opened the page.
