A plain iframe. Works everywhere, including site builders that strip scripts. Adjust height if your content needs more room.
<div data-a2z-widget="saudi-remittance-cost-calculator" data-height="1050"></div> <script async src="https://a2z.tools/embed.js"></script>
Adds a small script (what it does) that sizes the widget to fit its content, loads it lazily and keeps it isolated from your page's CSS.

How it works
Money-transfer providers in the Kingdom earn twice on a remittance: a visible fee, and a margin hidden in the exchange rate - the gap between the riyal rate they offer and the mid-market rate. The widget reads the reference rate from A2Z's shared exchange-rate table, the same cached source as A2Z's currency converter, so your visitors' browsers never call a rate provider. You either enter the provider's margin as a percentage or type the exact rate on its screen, choose whether the fee is added on top or taken out of the amount, and the widget shows what the recipient receives, the effective rate after the fee and the full cost in riyals and as a percentage. Because the riyal is pegged to the US dollar at 3.75, SAR rates move only with the destination currency. If the live table cannot be reached the custom-rate mode still works and says the reference is unavailable. It is the same engine as A2Z's UAE remittance calculator with Saudi defaults - riyals, Riyadh time and common corridors.
Calculation method
- Reference rate = destination per USD / SAR per USD from the shared table
- Provider rate = reference x (1 - margin), or the custom rate entered
- Recipient gets = (amount - fee if taken out) x provider rate
- Cost = amount paid - recipient amount / reference rate
Worked examples
SAR to INR at the reference rate
Inputs: SAR 3,000; fee SAR 15 on top; no margin; 1 SAR = 22.1333 INR
Result: Recipient gets INR 66,400; you pay SAR 3,015
A cost comparison, not a quote. The provider's confirmed rate and fee at the time of sending apply.
Limitations
- Provider fees and rates are your inputs; A2Z does not list any provider's prices.
- The reference rate can lag the market by a few hours.
- Receiving-bank charges and taxes in the destination country are not included.
Where publishers use it
- An expatriate community site in Riyadh or Jeddah comparing exchange houses
- A remittance company's landing page showing its fee and rate honestly
- A personal-finance blog for workers sending salaries home
- A Jeddah exchange office comparing PKR and BDT corridors
- A Riyadh driver sending wages home to Kerala
Questions
How do I find the real cost of sending money from Saudi Arabia?
Add the transfer fee to the rate margin. If the mid-market rate is 22.13 INR per riyal and the provider gives 21.90, the 1% margin on SAR 3,000 costs about SAR 31 on top of the fee.
Where does the reference rate come from?
From A2Z's shared exchange-rate table, refreshed from ExchangeRate-API and cached on A2Z's server. It is a mid-market reference, not a rate any provider guarantees.
Which currencies can I send to?
Presets cover INR, PKR, PHP, BDT, NPR, LKR and EGP, plus other GCC currencies, USD, EUR and GBP. The defaults - SAR to INR - can be changed in the embed code.
