Adds a small script (what it does) that sizes the widget to fit its content, loads it lazily and keeps it isolated from your page's CSS.

How it works
Under the Central Bank's Regulations on bank loans to individuals, a car loan may cover at most 80% of the vehicle's value and must be repaid within 60 months, and it counts towards the 50% limit on all loan payments against gross income. The widget subtracts your down payment from the price, checks the amount financed against the 80% cap, computes the instalment with A2Z's reducing-balance EMI engine and, if you add your income, the debt burden ratio. When the down payment is too small it tells you the minimum - 20% of the price. Insurance, registration and the bank's fees are outside the calculation.
Calculation method
- Amount financed = price - down payment <= 80% x price
- Instalment = P r (1+r)^n / ((1+r)^n - 1), n <= 60 months
- DBR = (instalment + other loan payments) / gross monthly income <= 50%
Worked examples
Minimum deposit
Inputs: Car AED 100,000
Result: Largest finance AED 80,000; minimum down payment AED 20,000
Full plan
Inputs: Car AED 120,000; down AED 24,000; 5.5%; 60 months
Result: Finances AED 96,000 over 60 months
Used hatchback
Inputs: Car AED 45,000
Result: Largest finance AED 36,000; smallest deposit AED 9,000
An estimate, not a finance offer.
Limitations
- Reducing-balance rate only; flat-rate quotes must be converted first.
- Insurance, registration, Salik and bank fees are not included.
- Balloon-payment plans are not modelled.
- Comprehensive or third-party motor insurance premiums, registration renewal and toll tags are running costs, not part of the loan.
Where publishers use it
- A car dealer's listing page with the monthly payment at the sticker price
- A used-car marketplace explaining the 20% minimum deposit
- A motoring blog comparing 48 and 60-month terms
- An Arabic dealership site
- A pickup-truck dealer in Sharjah showing fleet buyers the instalment per vehicle
Questions
What is the minimum down payment on a car in the UAE?
20% of the vehicle's value, because the Central Bank caps car finance at 80%. On a AED 120,000 car the minimum down payment is AED 24,000.
What is the longest car loan term?
60 months under the Central Bank's regulations.
Does the cap apply to used cars?
Yes. The 80% maximum applies to new and used vehicles alike.
Does a car loan count towards the debt burden ratio?
Yes. All loan payments together may not exceed 50% of gross monthly income.
How much deposit does a used SUV need?
The same 20% as a new car: on a AED 85,000 used SUV from a showroom the smallest down payment is AED 17,000 and the most a bank may finance is AED 68,000, repaid within 60 months.
Why do dealers quote low monthly payments?
Often because the quote uses a flat rate, the longest term or a large final balloon payment. Compare offers by the total repaid over the term at a reducing rate.
Does registration with the RTA or Mulkiya change the loan?
The vehicle is mortgaged to the lender on its Mulkiya (registration card) through the RTA or the emirate's traffic department until the final instalment; insurance, Salik tags and registration renewals are paid separately from the instalment.
