Adds a small script (what it does) that sizes the widget to fit its content, loads it lazily and keeps it isolated from your page's CSS.

How it works
Under the VAT Implementing Regulations a business looks at its figures at the end of every month. If taxable supplies for the twelve months just ended exceed SAR 375,000, or are expected to exceed it over the next twelve months, it must register and apply to ZATCA within thirty days of that month end. Below that, it may register voluntarily when its taxable supplies or its taxable expenses, past or expected, are not less than SAR 187,500 - a start-up with heavy set-up costs can register before it sells anything and recover the VAT it pays. The mandatory test is strict and the voluntary one inclusive, so exactly SAR 375,000 does not oblige registration and exactly SAR 187,500 allows it. Sales of capital assets are left out of the totals. The widget gives the result, the threshold that decided it and, when registration is required, the application deadline.
What is checked
- Must register: past 12 months > SAR 375,000, or next 12 months > SAR 375,000
- Apply within 30 days of the month end when the test is met
- May register: supplies or taxable expenses (past or next 12 months) >= SAR 187,500
Worked examples
Over the line
Inputs: Past 12 months SAR 400,000; month ended 30 Sep 2026
Result: Must register by 30 Oct 2026
Exactly SAR 375,000
Inputs: Past 12 months SAR 375,000
Result: Voluntary only - mandatory means 'exceeds'
A threshold check, not a registration decision. ZATCA approves every registration.
Limitations
- Takes your totals as entered; it does not decide which supplies are taxable, zero-rated or exempt.
- Deregistration, tax groups and non-resident registration are not covered.
- Related-party aggregation rules are not applied.
Where publishers use it
- A business-setup consultant's checklist for new Saudi commercial registrations
- An accountant's onboarding form where a founder tests next year's projected sales
- A freelancer deciding whether voluntary registration is worth it
- A Riyadh e-commerce seller nearing SAR 375,000
- A Jazan trading firm considering voluntary registration
