Qatar Final Settlement Calculator Widget
Build a Qatar final settlement line by line: wages still owed, the Article 54 gratuity, cash for unused annual leave, and notice compensation under Article 49 as rewritten in 2020 - one month in the first two years, two months after - in whichever direction it is owed.

A plain iframe. Works everywhere, including site builders that strip scripts. Adjust height if your content needs more room.

Adds a small script (what it does) that sizes the widget to fit its content, loads it lazily and keeps it isolated from your page's CSS.

How it works
The settlement keeps every entitlement on its own row with its basis. The gratuity follows Article 54 on the last basic wage, using the same engine as A2Z's Qatar gratuity calculator. Unused annual leave must be paid in cash when the contract ends for any reason (Article 81); because Article 79 ties leave pay to the Article 72 basic wage, the widget values each day at basic divided by thirty and states that choice. Decree-Law 18 of 2020, in force from 9 September 2020, replaced Article 49: after probation either side gives one month's written notice during the first two years of work and two months after that, and whoever skips it owes the worker's basic wage for the period not served. Leave the notice days blank to use the full statutory period for the service length, or enter the days actually missed. Article 67 requires everything to be paid before the end of the working day after the contract ends, or within seven days if the worker left without notice.
Calculation method
- Gratuity: Arts. 54 and 72 (21 days x years x basic / divisor)
- Unused leave = basic / 30 x days (Art. 81)
- Notice = basic / 30 x days: 30 days in years 1-2, 60 days after (Art. 49, DL 18/2020)
- Net = outstanding + gratuity + leave + notice to the worker + other - notice owed by the worker - deductions
Worked examples
Terminated after four years with notice paid in lieu
Inputs: Basic QAR 9,000; 2021-2024; 10 leave days; QAR 2,000 unpaid; QAR 500 debt
Result: Net QAR 47,700
25,200 + 3,000 + 18,000 (2 months) + 2,000 - 500.
A calculation aid, not legal advice. The Labour Law, the contract and the dispute committees decide each entitlement.
Limitations
- Outstanding wages, contractual extras and deductions are taken as entered.
- Repatriation tickets (Art. 57) and compensation awarded by a dispute committee are not added.
- The leave balance must be entered; A2Z's Qatar annual leave calculator can estimate it.
Where publishers use it
- An HR clearance form that shows the departing employee every line
- A worker checking an employer's settlement before signing
- A legal-aid page explaining the 2020 notice changes
- A Msheireb office manager preparing a leaver's clearance
- A Mesaieed industrial contractor closing out a technician's contract
Questions
What is the notice period in Qatar?
After probation, one month during the first and second year of work and two months after the second year, for either party (Article 49 as replaced by Decree-Law 18/2020). Whoever ends the contract without notice pays the worker's basic wage for the unserved period.
Is unused annual leave paid when I leave Qatar?
Yes. Article 81 entitles the worker to a cash allowance for leave days due if the contract ends for any reason before they are taken.
When must the final settlement be paid?
Before the end of the working day after the contract ends, or within seven days if the worker left without giving notice (Article 67).

|---|---|---|---|---|
| End-of-service gratuity At least three weeks' wage for each year of service (21 days), on the LAST BASIC wage (Art. 72; basic = rate plus annual increment only), after at least one full year, with part years pro rata. No cap and no reduction on resignation. Lost on dismissal under Art. 61 or Art. 59(8). The employer may deduct sums the worker owes. The Law does not say how three weeks' wage is derived from a monthly wage: A2Z defaults to 21 days x basic / 30 (the higher reading, 0.700 of a month per year) and lets the user switch to 3 weeks x basic x 12 / 52 (0.6923) - an assumption shown on the widget. Excludes government staff, domestic workers (Law 15/2017), the employer's family, casual work and QFC employers. |
