<div data-a2z-widget="bahrain-remittance-cost-calculator" data-height="1050"></div> <script async src="https://a2z.tools/embed.js"></script>
Adds a small script (what it does) that sizes the widget to fit its content, loads it lazily and keeps it isolated from your page's CSS.

How it works
The Bahraini dinar has been fixed at 0.376 to the US dollar since 1980, which makes it one of the most valuable currency units in the world: a single dinar buys more than two hundred rupees, so a spread of a fraction of a per cent costs real money. Exchange houses in Manama, Muharraq and Riffa charge a counter fee and build a margin into the rate they display. The widget takes the market side from A2Z's shared server-cached rate table - the one every GCC remittance widget and A2Z's currency converter use - so the visitor's browser never calls a rate service. Type the spread or the exact rate from the receipt, choose whether the fee is added or deducted, and the widget shows the amount the family receives, the effective rate once the fee is included, and the total cost in dinars to three decimals and as a percentage. If the live table cannot be loaded, entering the rate by hand still works.
Calculation method
- Reference rate = destination per USD / 0.376 from the shared table
- Recipient gets = (amount - fee if inside) x provider rate
- Cost = amount paid - recipient amount / reference rate, to the fils
Worked examples
BHD to INR
Inputs: BHD 200; fee 1.500 on top; reference 220.745
Result: Recipient gets INR 44,148.94
A cost comparison, not a quote.
Limitations
- Provider fees and rates are your inputs.
- The reference can lag the market.
- Receiving-country charges are not included.
Where publishers use it
- A Bangladeshi or Indian community page in Bahrain
- An exchange house's transparent fee table
- A worker-welfare guide to remittances
Questions
Is the Bahraini dinar pegged?
Yes, at 0.376 BHD per US dollar since 1980, so BHD rates move only with the destination currency.
Why three decimals?
The dinar is divided into 1,000 fils, and on large rupee amounts the third decimal matters.
Which currencies are included?
INR, PKR, BDT, PHP, NPR, LKR and EGP presets, plus GCC currencies, USD, EUR and GBP.
