Built for the moment money changes hands

Buying a used phone, accepting a trade-in or selling a laptop all come down to the same question: does it actually work? This runs the checks a browser genuinely can, asks you about the ones it cannot, and produces a graded report you can hand to the other party.

Every result says how it was reached

This is the part most online device tests get wrong. A browser can measure touchscreen coverage, count simultaneous touches, read a microphone level and time a network request. It cannot check a charging port, a SIM, a fingerprint sensor or a headphone socket — and it cannot see whether a camera image is sharp.

So results carry one of five labels, and two of them are different kinds of pass:

Passed automatically — the browser measured it.
Passed by user confirmation — you looked and said so.
Failed — measured or reported as broken.
Not supported by this browser — could not be attempted. This says nothing about the hardware either way, and never counts against the device.
Not tested — skipped.

A test you skipped is never quietly redistributed away. If too many essential checks are missing, the report says Incomplete rather than inventing a grade.

The grade

Scoring happens on the server, not in your browser, so the result is not something a seller can edit before sending it on. Display and input carry the most weight, then sound, battery and connectivity. A device with no battery to test — a desktop — has that weight spread over what does apply rather than being marked down for it.

Some failures cap the grade whatever else passes: a dead touchscreen, a display fault, charging that does not work, or a broken built-in keyboard on a laptop. Two essential failures is an F.

Nothing leaves your device

The camera preview and the microphone sample stay in the browser. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is recorded and no audio or video reaches the database — only measurements and results. Serial numbers and IMEI are masked on the shared report.
