Privacy and retention
- Uploaded files are held only long enough to transcribe them, then removed by routine server cleanup.
- Nothing you upload is published, shared, or used to identify you.
- Only process content you own or have permission to use - the confirmation checkbox above is not a formality.
- Preview modes (clips, Reels, audiograms, summary, show notes, blog, silence removal) do not exist yet, so selecting them never uploads or transmits your file for that purpose.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Podcast Clip & Transcript Studio free?
Yes. Uploading an episode and generating a transcript with timestamps, exported as TXT, SRT or VTT, is free and does not require sign-up.
Are Smart Clips, Reels and Audiograms available yet?
Not yet. Those modes are shown as previews so you can see the plan, but selecting one will not process your file - only Transcript and Subtitles are connected to a working backend right now.
What is the maximum file size?
500 MB per upload, the same limit as A2Z's audio-to-text tool, since both use the same transcription pipeline.
Can I paste an episode URL instead of uploading?
Yes - use the Episode URL tab with a direct link to a hosted audio or video file, or a page a supported downloader can read. Not every site is supported, and private, paywalled or DRM-protected episodes cannot be imported this way. Importing a whole show from its RSS feed is planned but not available yet.
How is this different from the audio-to-text tool?
They share the same transcription engine. audio-to-text is a general-purpose transcriber for any recording. This studio is built around podcast repurposing - the same transcript feeding clip, Reel, summary and show-notes generation once those modes ship.
Are my files kept after processing?
Uploaded files are held only long enough to transcribe them and are removed by routine server cleanup afterwards. Nothing is published or shared.
Does it detect speakers?
Not yet. The transcript available today is timestamped but not speaker-labelled; speaker detection is planned alongside the other preview modes.
