Adds a small script (what it does) that sizes the widget to fit its content, loads it lazily and keeps it isolated from your page's CSS.

How it works
Section CM-5.4 of the CBB Rulebook, added in June 2022, sets the limits Bahrain's banks and finance companies must apply to consumer finance. Total monthly repayments on all consumer finance may not exceed fifty per cent of the borrower's gross monthly income, and every credit card counts at five per cent of its limit - or its full balance if over the limit - whether or not it is used. The limit may be relaxed for customers earning more than BHD 3,000 a month, but only after a documented review of their finances. Instalment consumer finance may not run longer than seven years from the original date and may be extended no more than twice. An owner-occupied first-charge home mortgage is not consumer finance and is not counted. The widget computes the level instalment with A2Z's shared loan engine, adds existing repayments and the card share, and reports within or above the stated limit.
Calculation method
- Counted = new instalment + other consumer repayments + 5% of card limits
- Counted <= 50% of gross monthly income
- Term <= 84 months; relaxable above BHD 3,000 income
Worked examples
Income BHD 1,000 with BHD 2,000 card limits
Inputs: BHD 20,000 at 6% over 60 months
Result: About BHD 387 a month; 486.7 of 500 - within
Same with BHD 22,000
Inputs:
Result: Above the 50% limit
An illustration and a regulatory-limit check, not a loan offer.
Limitations
- Mortgages are excluded by the CBB definition.
- Lender policies and fees are not included.
- The relaxation above BHD 3,000 is lender discretion.
Where publishers use it
- A Bahraini bank comparison page
- A borrower testing how card limits reduce borrowing room
- A financial-literacy article on CBB limits
- A Bahraini teacher or nurse checking room for a car or wedding loan after a salary increase
- A Riffa or Isa Town family weighing a renovation loan against existing card limits
- An Ithmaar or BBK-style branch explainer on the 50% repayment ceiling
- A first-job graduate from the University of Bahrain checking borrowing room
Questions
How much of my salary can go to loans in Bahrain?
Total consumer repayments may not exceed 50% of gross monthly income (CBB Rulebook CM-5.4.1), including 5% of every credit-card limit.
What is the maximum personal loan term in Bahrain?
7 years from the original date, with at most two extensions (CM-5.4.8).
Do my credit cards count even if I do not use them?
Yes. Each card counts at 5% of its limit, or its full balance if that exceeds the limit (CM-5.4.5). Lowering unused limits frees borrowing room.
Can my bank extend my personal loan in Bahrain?
At most twice, and the whole finance may still not run longer than seven years from the original date (CM-5.4.8); each extension must keep repayments within the 50% limit.
