Browser Info Widget
Add a what's-my-browser panel to your website. It shows visitors their browser and version, operating system, screen size, pixel ratio, colour-scheme preference, languages, time zone and more, with one button to copy everything as text for a support ticket.

Embed code
<iframe src="https://a2z.tools/embed/w/browser-info" title="Browser Info by A2Z Tools" width="100%" height="710" style="border:0;width:100%" loading="lazy" allow="clipboard-write"></iframe>
A plain iframe. Works everywhere, including site builders that strip scripts. Adjust height if your content needs more room.
<div data-a2z-widget="browser-info" data-height="710"></div> <script async src="https://a2z.tools/embed.js"></script>
Adds a small script (what it does) that sizes the widget to fit its content, loads it lazily and keeps it isolated from your page's CSS.
Works with
How it works
When the browser supports User-Agent Client Hints, the widget reads the browser brand and asks for the platform version, which is the only reliable way to tell Windows 11 from Windows 10. Otherwise it parses the user-agent string in a careful order: Edge, Opera and Samsung Internet all include the word Chrome, and Chrome includes Safari, so the specific names are checked first. Screen size is shown in CSS pixels and device pixels, and because the widget runs in a frame, the viewport row is labelled as the widget's own area rather than the whole page. Colour-scheme and online status update live. The copy button produces a plain-text list a visitor can paste into a support request.
Method
- Browser and OS: navigator.userAgentData brands + getHighEntropyValues(platformVersion) when available, else user-agent parsing
- Windows platformVersion 13 or higher = Windows 11; user agents report both Windows 10 and 11 as "Windows NT 10.0"
- Screen = screen.width x screen.height (CSS px) and x devicePixelRatio for device pixels
- Preferences via matchMedia: prefers-color-scheme, prefers-reduced-motion; time zone via Intl.DateTimeFormat().resolvedOptions()
Limitations
- Browsers may reduce or freeze user-agent details for privacy, and privacy extensions can spoof them, so the reported browser and OS are what the browser chooses to reveal.
- Only browsers with User-Agent Client Hints (Chromium-based ones at the time of writing) can tell Windows 11 from Windows 10; others show 'Windows 10 or 11'.
- Runs inside a frame, so the viewport, cookie and storage rows describe the widget's frame rather than the host page.
Where publishers use it
- Help-desk and support pages, so customers can paste their browser details into a ticket
- Web-agency sites collecting environment details for bug reports
- Developer blogs explaining user agents, Client Hints and device pixel ratio
- Online course platforms that list supported browsers
Questions
Why does it say "Windows 10 or 11"?
Browsers report both versions with the same user-agent string. Browsers that support Client Hints reveal the real version, and then the widget shows Windows 10 or Windows 11 exactly.
Why is the viewport smaller than my browser window?
The widget runs inside a frame on the host page, so it can only measure its own area. That row is labelled accordingly.
Is any of this information collected?
No. It is read from the visitor's browser and shown back to them only. The widget makes no request with it.
Why might cookies show as disabled?
Some browsers block cookies for embedded frames from another site by default. That reflects the frame's situation, not necessarily the visitor's general setting.
Sources
- Detect Windows 11 and CPU architecture using User-Agent Client Hints - Microsoft Edge developer documentation . platformVersion 13.0.0 and above = Windows 11; the User-Agent string still says Windows NT 10.0
