What this tool supports
SoundCloud's upload form has an "enable downloads" option. When an artist ticks it, the track page shows a download button and this tool can fetch the file. When they have not, the audio is there to be streamed and the artist has said they do not want it kept.
What it will not do
- Tracks without the creator's download permission are refused, not extracted from the stream.
- Playlists are refused outright rather than partly downloaded.
- Private and unlisted share links are not resolved.
- Go and Go+ offline content is not accessible and never will be.
Questions
The track plays in my browser. Why can't I download it?
Because playing and downloading are different permissions. If the artist has not enabled downloads, taking the stream anyway would be ignoring their answer.
Can you add support for tracks without the download button?
No. That is the one thing this tool exists not to do.
