What this tool supports
A podcast feed exists so podcast apps can fetch episodes, and the enclosure in that feed is the publisher pointing at the file they mean to be downloaded. That is a clear, machine-readable permission, and it is what this tool relies on.
What it will not do
- Private feeds are refused on sight - a feed URL with a token in it is somebody's personal subscription.
- Subscriber-only and paid episodes are refused.
- Feeds requiring a login cannot be processed.
Questions
Why was my feed URL refused before anything loaded?
If the URL contains a token or key, it is a personal subscription feed. Those are refused without being fetched, so your private feed URL is never sent anywhere.
Is downloading a podcast episode allowed?
Downloading one to listen offline is what podcast apps do and what feeds are for. Redistributing it is a different matter and is not yours to authorise.
