How a download works
When you paste a link and start a download, the app sends that link over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to the A2Z Tools download service. The service fetches the video from the website you chose, prepares the format and quality you picked, and your phone downloads the finished file. The prepared copy on our server is deleted automatically by a cleanup job.
What we keep, and what we don't
For each download our service keeps a short record for statistics and troubleshooting: the website's name (not the full link), the video title, the format, the file size, timings and whether it succeeded. It also keeps a one-way, salted hash of your IP address so we can count distinct users without storing the address itself. We do not keep your full link or IP address, and the record is not linked to a name, email or account (the app has none).
No ads, analytics or sharing
The app contains no ads, no analytics and no crash-reporting SDK. We do not sell or share your data with anyone. Your request does reach the website that hosts the video, because our server downloads the video from it.
Use only content you may download
Download only videos you own, that are in the public domain, or that you have permission to download. The website hosting a video may have its own terms.
Permissions
- Internet: To send your link to the download service and receive the file.
- Storage / media: To save downloaded videos and audio on your phone and list them in the app.
Android asks before an app can use the camera, microphone or notifications, and you can change these permissions at any time in your phone's Settings.
Children
Video Downloader: HD Saver is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
