What this tool supports

Freesound sounds carry a specific Creative Commons licence and an author who expects credit. This tool uses the official Freesound API so it fetches the original file, not the low-quality preview, and shows the licence with it.

What it will not do

  • Requires official Freesound API access, which is not configured yet.
  • The preview file is never served as the original - they are different files.
  • Some licences forbid commercial use; the specific one is shown per sound.

Why is this tool not available?

It needs official Freesound API credentials. Rather than fall back to the preview file - which is a different, lower-quality recording - the tool stays off and links you to the sound's own page.
