What is checked
The same record structure ads.txt uses - domain, publisher account ID, relationship type, optional certification authority ID - checked at the developer or publisher domain an app store listing declares for the app, rather than at the app store itself.
Confirm the right domain
App-ads.txt lives at the developer-domain an app store listing declares - checking the wrong domain (an app store's own domain, for instance) will simply find nothing. Confirm the domain matches what the store listing shows before relying on a result here.
